# One Week Holds Everything

This week is off to a tough start — over the weekend we lost a teammate's mother to a long illness. My prayers are with their family.

And yet the same week holds so much life: one teammate married last night, another's wedding is Tuesday, a third's is next week. A friend's near-miraculous recovery is on track.

That's the strange arithmetic of a team — grief and joy in the same seven days, carried together. We keep two minutes of silence at the start of each standup. And then we get to work, because that too is how we hold each other.
