# The Yellow Band

*February 5, 2026 · Note to the team · Roby John*

I've been unwell this past week and largely bedridden — something I haven't experienced in a long time. It gave me unexpected space to reflect.

A story: during the occupation of Denmark, when Jewish citizens were told to wear a yellow band, the King appeared in public wearing one himself. Others followed, until it became impossible to single anyone out. When people stand together, fear loses its leverage.

A year ago, I wore the band first. I fired myself. I stopped taking a salary. I worked harder than I ever had — not as symbolism, but as accountability. The results didn't show up immediately; they never do. But we survived, and more than that, we progressed. Because of Action.

Action relieves anxiety. Fear only grows when outcomes feel uncontrollable — and these are in our own hands. Let's live by the two timeframes that matter: ten years, and one hour. Ten years is the vision. One hour is what you do next.
