Lead Bullets, Not Silver Bullets

I'm writing this from a room in Helsinki — the cold ocean on one side, the Supercell office on the other.

As I wrote out our plan, I realized it's a long list of what are called "lead bullets." I want to remind everyone: there is no silver bullet. No single change we can make to get everything working.

Our game is still laggy and buggy in places, and that's what keeps even our hardcore supporters from full belief. There's no silver bullet for that. We're going to have to use a lot of lead bullets.

There's nothing scarier than facing that. So scary that many will look for any alternative, any way out. But there comes a time in every company's life when it must fight for its life. We go through the front door, and we deal with the big, ugly issues as the Final Boss blocking it.

I want all of us to choose boldness today — and build the game our players deserve.

Let's make something

Find me at the SPC office in Bengaluru, usually Wednesdays. Coffee, a walk, hacking user acquisition — all yes.
