A Best Man's Toast

BEST MANS SPEECH - TOAST

Thanks for giving me this honor. I kept thinking about what I should be saying on such a joyous occasion.

My confusion got sorted out last night when I accidentally turned up at Sebastian Uncles house last night for the family prayer.

I was really curious to hear what each of them was going to be praying to GOD for.

Here is what I heard.

My uncle, Sebastian Sir, who is a famous maths teacher was praying with the following words “Lord, let this marriage be like a balanced equation. Thank you for RIA as an ADDITION to this family, may this marriage SUBTRACT all our difficulties, DIVIDE and carry out duties and MULTIPLY all our Joys and Happiness. “

Then, I heard my Aunty who is like the family expert in all the housework like cooking, cleaning and washing say “Lord help this marriage be like a CLEAN house (well maintained and take care of) Let LOVE be the key ingredient of every meal we cook together, and may your word and guidance help IRON out all our difficulties

Then I heard Teby who is a the marketing manager for CNBC-TV18 pray “Lord, let this marriage be like a really successful marketing campaign (LONG and LASTING), let RIA be the only Channel playing on the TV of my LIFE with LOVE as the only program playing, and the commercial interruptions of TROUBLES as few as possible.

After hearing all this hear, I was really curious to hear what RIA, our computer engineer from Satyam was going to pray for. I heard “Lord Let Teby be the like the MAINFRAME computer of my life (STRONG and always AVAILABLE), Keep Our HARD DISK’s - Full of happy memories, and Our LOVE like an updated ANTI-VIRUS that keeps all troubles away.

After hearing all this, I knew that there was not much else I could ask for this happy couple. I now understood what is meant by the saying When children find true love, parents find true joy

So here I raise this Wedding Toast to the proud parents of the happy Bride and Groom (Teby and Ria)

May your happiness be complete, their marriage long and prosperous and every wedding speech they hear be funnier and shorter than mine Here's to your joy and ours, from this day forward.
